ZWAAZO is the work of Claudia Ratay.  Surrounded by beautiful textiles since childhood, some of her best memories are of exploring her mother’s clothing design studio in New York City; from the walls of neatly organized buttons to the mountains of fabric bolts. Rooted in her Bolivian and Polish heritage, textiles have been a common thread throughout her life and work.

At ZWAAZO, we want to share unique beauty through our textiles.  Each piece is hand-dyed or painted in small batches. Colors and patterns emerge through a careful process of dye, wash, and transformation. No two pieces are exactly the same, each carries its own character. Our artistic process honors ancient techniques while offering a modern perspective.

We believe handmade works emit a radiant energy that can transform any space.  We aspire to create pieces that resonate with you as deeply as they do with us, each one shaped with thought and intention.

Our goal is to contribute to a future that encourages curiosity and a lasting appreciation for the handmade.

Claudia currently lives and works in her mother’s home city of La Paz, Bolivia.
